I gotta suspect.. Toyota knows what they’re doing. Use this but perhaps shorter than 10k interval or something and.. who knows.. maybe toyotas will now last forever…….. AND EVER lol. Time will tell but yeah 3-5k still. Ive never done past. My prius and corolla i hit nearly 5 and that was the longest i ever did with a car.
testing from total seal has concluded that a thin oil like 5-20 or thinner is less friction more ware , also found out that cars that spec 5-20 or thinner in california are spec 5-30 in other states and other countries its the epa a holes , your car positively will ware out quicker if u run a thin type oil allready proven on multi million dollar test equip š¤·
Next, they will try to use WD-40 as engine oil. These car companies really don’t care if the engines last or not. They want you to buy a new car every few years. I would never use anything thinner than 10w-30. I thought it was stupid when they went to 5W-20. And now they tell customers the cars can go 10k in-between oil changes. They want these things to fail. The last thing they want is a customer to buy a car, and then keep it for the next 20 years.
All engine over 500hp ask for w40 this is bullshit clearance arent larger on turboed performance engine. Am now running 0w40 in my hyundai after a blew two rod bearing and scuffed piston sleeve on 5w20. Ran 5w20 for 50k mile and the new piston sleeve already scuffed.
Today’s engine have closer tolerance so they need to be thinner and the return ports are smaller so has more man made solvents in them that’s why it’s thinner.
At the time, I thought 020 was the thinest oil a car could take, and then I got a camry in my bay that took 016, and I thought that was wrong, so I grabbed my boss and he was perplexed by 016 on the oil cap and that we both learned alot of new toyotas are going thinner and thinner
I don’t know Toyota has been falling off their game lately on reliability. Just look at all the problems that are having with the Tundras and Tacomas. Toyota are not King of reliability anymore. I believe they value profit over quality now.
I mean listen, I have a new Honda motorbike that hasn’t complained engine wise about its oil content in almost 2000 miles now; typically a decade ago that was unheard of and you changed it every 600 "just in case", but now with a magnetic filter trap and plug setup, most of the issues in the older setups are solved for longer and the oil stays fresher over time with these new detergents.
I can’t wait for the day we start up our first "forever engine" as a people, where it theoretically goes so long it might as well outlive us at least once.
It may not feel slick while rubbing it because the oil is thin enough the the water moisture on pur hands is able to wik the oil away from the surface of your fingers. Only guess to it feeling less lubey than antifreeze
I knew a tech who worked at a Ford dealership when the for 4.6 & 5.4 engines went from requiring 5w-30 to 5w-20, he checked the specs of the engines in wsm and found no difference between them.
Nopeā¦I wouldnāt use that. Probably 5-20. It might give your variable valve timing solenoids fits but, itās not going to clunge you rod and main bearings. This is epa mandating on how your carā¦.that you boughtā¦.not themā¦.will last.
Have seen some newer A25A-FXS engines fail from excessive moisture in the oil, Head gasket leaks, No oil pressure. So I am not really sold on them. We will have to see about longevity. Do I think its the oil causing these issues? Well I’m not a engineer so I can not tell you that, but looking Inside the engine it still reeks of Toyota quality.
Toyota died in 2018
That b great as 2 stroke oil

I bet one late oil change can destroy the whole thing
What’s it taste like?
Just like Scott kilmer says change that oil.
Is a Toyota guy

It’s not that oil tech has advanced that far. It’s just not expected to have the engine last 400,000 miles anymore.

5w-30 minimum
Thin oils have several advantages, and "feeling slippery" and being actually slippery are 2 very different things.
Bro 5-30 10-30
That oil isnāt with the intention of lasting forever itās solely for the purpose of gas mileage increase.
The anti wear additives are formulated stronger in 0W-8 and 0W-16 much more than 5W-20 which is the least protected oil.
Amber water
If the new engines were truly built for thinner oils then 10w30 would be more than sufficient.
aww yes 0w-8 makes water look like honey.
nothing last forever this day’s
By comparison, olive oil is probably 0W-16?
I don’t think i would use that oil other than for fuel injection š
What engines use this kind of oil? š Ive never seen an engine that uses 0w-8 š
Same viscosity as transmission fluid.
Damn her voice thicker then that oil š

All bad

Only 5-40 is the best It is perfect for maintaining longevity.
It may not feel slick while rubbing it because the oil is thin enough the the water moisture on pur hands is able to wik the oil away from the surface of your fingers. Only guess to it feeling less lubey than antifreeze

They just arbitrarily reduced the viscosity.
cooking oilš
0 W means it ain’t doing anything . I’ll put it in with decaf coffee and alcohol free beer .
Die Ćle funktionieren ohne Probleme GruĆ aus Deutschland
There’s no way I could sleep knowing that stuff is in my engine, but it wouldn’t be there to begin with anyway.
I like your wtf expression when pouring.
Just simply pee in the engine
Nopeā¦I wouldnāt use that. Probably 5-20. It might give your variable valve timing solenoids fits but, itās not going to clunge you rod and main bearings. This is epa mandating on how your carā¦.that you boughtā¦.not themā¦.will last.
Knowing that āThey donāt make them like they used toā. My guess is that this is one of thoseš¢
Wtf is that

Toyoya is following the Nissan Suite in an express non-stop train .
Change it to 0w20 folks .. won’t hurt anything but will run last. Fuel economy is cheaper than the engine.
hey, nice video. be aware of chemicals, your body is very complex and sensitive, use gloves and stuff š
R u trans?
thin engine oil is supposed to be for low power vehicles to cause less drag on the components. if my car has the power, im using thicker engine oil
Manufacturer knows what oil to use. Bearing and tolerance in the engine and the climate where u live is what decides.
For mileage not good lubrication.
Mobil 1 made some too
It’s worse oil being used for fuel efficiency. The engines are designed to use it but it is worse for longevity.
